I am Mima Farr, the new English Assistant at Johann von Nassau Schule. I am 20 years old and was born in England. I grew up in the county of Gloucestershire, near to Wales and moved to London for University. My family have also now moved to East Yorkshire, near the North Sea.
I study German and Italian at Royal Holloway, University of London. I started learning German 9 years ago at School and a school trip to Cologne sparked my passion for the language. My favourite city in Germany so far is Berlin – I love the history of the city with its incredible architecture! I have only been studying Italian for two years at University however I have also studied Spanish for 4 years.
My main hobby is Dancing, which I began at the age of 4 and haven’t stopped since – I am able to choreograph dances and perform many different styles. These vary from Contemporary to Tap to Jazz to Hip Hop. I am also a part of two Cheerleading teams at University, called The Royal Holloway Bears. Cheerleading is a team sport, which involves a mixture of stunting, dancing, jumping and tumbling. It’s very enjoyable to watch and take part in. I hope to continue with Dancing and Cheerleading for many, many years.
I also enjoy water skiing, which I did whilst working at Summer Camp in America last year, and snow skiing – I went on my first ski holiday at 18 months old and ever since I have been in love with the sport!
I am very excited to be able to spend 6 months at Johann von Nassau Schule. I am really looking forward to getting to know all the children and staff and see what excitement it brings!
